Big Brothers are fun, spontaneous and great listeners who enjoy being a positive influence and enjoying quality time with a great friend, a little. We are currently looking for volunteers who are reliable, stable and who are able to commit to a one year match in the following areas: 1- Brittania /Bayshore 2- South of Walkley 3 - Riverside South 5- Alta Vista 6- Kanata 7- Orleans (Bilingual) Please provide us with your postal code to assist us in assessing your geographical suitability and/or let us know if you are available to volunteer in any of the above-mentioned areas. If there is a potential Little in your area, we will invite you to complete a prescreening questionnaire, which will remain on file. Your prescreening questionnaire allows us to cross-reference match criteria such as similar interests and availability. If at any point you feel that our program is no longer a good fit for you, please don't hesitate to let us know. Why Be a Mentor? For just a few hours a couple of times a month, you can help a child succeed. Big Brothers Big Sisters is different from other mentoring organizations in that we seek volunteers who are committed and consistent, willing to serve at least one year. Studies show this commitment to mentoring help kids stay in school, avoid risky behaviour, and experience first-hand the importance of helping others in their community.
