VO is recruiting and deploying volunteers to respond to the volunteer needs specific to COVID-19 in Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Lanark County and Renfrew County while ensuring proper screening and training protocals to safeguard the health of those volunteering and those they are assisting. Please see the intake portals for volunteers, for members, and for other agencies on our hompage. VO’s COVID 19 volunteer deployment program is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and the Ottawa Community Foundation.

Transport to Vaccine Appointment Volunteer- VaxAide

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vax Aide was created to assist the vulnerable population in Ottawa in booking vaccine appointments, and getting rides to these appointments.

Vax Aide is looking for volunteers who can take people to their vaccine appointments. Based on your availability, you will pick someone up, take them to the clinic, and after they get the vaccine, you will take them back home.

Volunteer drivers require:

- A smart phone with cellular data
- A personal vehicle
- Driver's licence
- Car insurance
- a Vulnerable Sector Check
- A willingness to assist those in need
