DescriptionIf you’re looking to make a difference at a Board level, The Council on Aging of Ottawa is looking for new Board members. Interested in advocacy work on behalf of older adults in Ottawa? Or providing information and education for older adults on life transitions? Or perhaps you’re interested in leading fundraising initiatives? Our Board members provide leadership and support to staff and our many volunteers who work together to make Ottawa an increasingly Age-Friendly city.
Resource Development Chair
You know that most of the work in fundraising is done behind the scenes. You love the idea of leading a group of volunteers and staff to brainstorm ideas on the best way to ensure sustainable funding. You’ll be working with a small but dedicated group to develop a long-term strategy and identify and grow sources of funding.
From successful donor stewardship strategies to grant writing, you’ll help the COA fulfill its mission. Working with staff and other Board members, you’ll ensure the COA has a well-thought-out communication plan to elicit continued support from our members and sponsors. And at some point, there will be a need to plan in-person events that will not only raise funds but will allow our members and others to network.
If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and help make Ottawa an increasingly Age-Friendly city, please apply today.
