VO is recruiting and deploying volunteers to respond to the volunteer needs specific to COVID-19 in Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Lanark County and Renfrew County while ensuring proper screening and training protocals to safeguard the health of those volunteering and those they are assisting. Please see the intake portals for volunteers, for members, and for other agencies on our hompage. VO’s COVID 19 volunteer deployment program is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and the Ottawa Community Foundation.

Group Volunteer Advocate

Results is a global movement of passionate volunteers committed to advocating for a world without extreme poverty. We take action like reaching out to Members of Parliament and getting published in the media with the aim of leveraging better funding for policies and programs that alleviate extreme poverty. Each advocacy campaign harnesses a strategic opportunity to make an impact by formulating a concrete and timely ask to present to our elected officials.

• attend and actively participate in the monthly education & action meetings with your group members
• take action alongside fellow group members on the current campaign. Example of actions (but not limited to):
o engaging with your Member of Parliament by writing or meeting with them
o writing letters to the editor
o organizing events
o supporting the logistics of the group
o being active on social media
o taking part in the online community of Results Canada
o fundraising
o tabling at an event to talk about Results Canada
• report on your actions to your Group Leader on a monthly basis

What we're looking for:
• Someone passionate about ending poverty in the Global South and committed to lead by taking action to build the political will to end poverty.
• A “people person”, who is excellent at building relationships and who loves to inspire, develop and motivate others.
• Someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Someone who is able to go out of their comfort zone to create change.

REGISTER for our Virtual National Conference coming up on Nov 14-15. We will host plenaries, sessions, and workshops filled with information and insight on global health and advocacy in the current COVID-19 context. You will be able to network with fellow volunteers, learn new skills, and hear from experts in the sector where you can ask questions and add to your toolkit of advocacy knowledge. There is even a short information session about volunteering with Results Canada just before we kick off the conference (9:30am-10:00am EST, Sat Nov 14). Registration to the Conference is required:




Volunteer Opportunity Address

Location varies - please contact. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the group is meeting virtually. The meeting is once a month on the 2nd Tuesday at 7-9pm.
