Context for the Assignment:

Are you passionate about improving livelihoods and increasing opportunities for youth?

As the Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor E-volunteer with the WUSC team in Sri Lanka you will work to develop strategies and tools to set up monitoring and evaluation processes and systems. You will assist in conducting the baseline surveys with partner organizations. You will also work to increase the understanding of the logic model, performance measurement framework and measurement tools within the team as well as within the local partners organizations.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Support in setting up a monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL) system as well as establishing periodic reviews of the systems
- Share best practices, conduct trainings and offer mentorship to the country office staff, partner organizations and fellow e-volunteers on monitoring & evaluation (M&E)
- Support the development of a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) action plan including tools, templates, forms and reporting schedules
- Ensure relevant and timely information is provided in user-friendly formats to senior management and partners as required
- Support the coordination between research consultants and partner organizations
- Participate in pre-assignment online training
- Undertake public engagement and fundraising activities before, during, and after their volunteer assignment; volunteers will be equipped with tools, training, and support to achieve these goals
- Ensure that a gender equality lens is consistently applied in the execution of all activities
- Support partners to empower young women and promote a culture of gender sensitive representation in all activities and program benefits
- Co-develop an e-volunteer work plan with the partner organization and WUSC country office using the WUSC volunteer work plan template
- Participate in organizational and project improvement activities such as surveys, assessments and learning/planning sessions
- Submit volunteer timesheets, reports and deliverables as required by WUSC.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree and/or formal training in gender studies, women’s studies, social sciences or equivalent experience in other relevant field
- Knowledge and experience in monitoring and evaluation processes, systems and tools
-Strong understanding of organizational development, strategic and operational planning
- Ability to work independently as part of a remote working group
- Comfortable using online working platforms
- Access to a reliable internet connection
- A commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and international volunteering
- Experience with group facilitation and trainings, including content development
- Flexibility, adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
- Written and oral fluency in English
- Experience living and working internationally is a strong asset.
