COVID-19 Update

VO is recruiting and deploying volunteers to respond to the volunteer needs specific to COVID-19 in Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Lanark County and Renfrew County while ensuring proper screening and training protocals to safeguard the health of those volunteering and those they are assisting. Please see the intake portals for volunteers, for members, and for other agencies on our hompage. VO’s COVID 19 volunteer deployment program is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and the Ottawa Community Foundation.

Description

Results is a global movement of passionate volunteers committed to advocating for a world without extreme poverty. We take action like reaching out to Members of Parliament and getting published in the media with the aim of leveraging better funding for policies and programs that alleviate extreme poverty. Each advocacy campaign harnesses a strategic opportunity to make an impact by formulating a concrete and timely ask to present to our elected officials.

Under the direction of the Public Engagement team, each Regional Coordinator is responsible for supporting and engaging Results Canada's volunteers and supporting expansion efforts in Eastern Canada (Quebec and Atlantic Provinces).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead info sessions for interested voluteers
- Host working meetings/calls, and online discussions with volunteers
- Lead online webinar trainings to expand volunteers’ skills (leadership, volunteer engagement, writing effectively, etc.)
- Identify community outreach opportunities, and at times, participate in events to facilitate recruitment and awareness building
- Lead by example by taking actions (political engagement, media letter-writing, etc.), alongside volunteers and in support of our campaigns
