COVID-19 Update

VO is recruiting and deploying volunteers to respond to the volunteer needs specific to COVID-19 in Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Lanark County and Renfrew County while ensuring proper screening and training protocals to safeguard the health of those volunteering and those they are assisting. Please see the intake portals for volunteers, for members, and for other agencies on our hompage. VO’s COVID 19 volunteer deployment program is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and the Ottawa Community Foundation.

Description

Bag Half Full YOW is a volunteer-run grocery shopping and delivery service started by uOttawa medical students. We are looking for anyone in Ottawa who is interested in volunteering with us. This is a great way to serve our community in this time of crisis for many people who are in very difficult situations, and a great addition to volunteers' CVs!

We reimburse our volunteers' gas mileage and have funds raised to ensure that our volunteers are never on the hook for any expenses.

What prospective volunteers will need:
- A Police Records Check (or reference letter from a prior work/volunteer experience)
- Access to a vehicle

This is a flexible volunteer position where volunteers are able to sign up for grocery orders at the times and places that work for them. It’s a great opportunity to get involved in the COVID-19 crisis and help those who really need it!
