Description

Looking for creative makers to share their passion for maker culture by volunteering some of your time to mentor a youth who wants to learn from you!

Do you have a passion for creative arts? Are you working in this field or do you pursue it as a hobby? You could be a painter, an art enthusiast, sewer or quilter, maker of toys, dolls, crafts, anything!

Do you love to work with laser cutters, 3D printers and pens, up-cycled and recycled materials? Or are you someone who dabbles in many creative areas?

If you are willing to impart your experience and knowledge and enjoy working with youth, this is the initiative for you!

Looking to connect a prospective mentor with a youth who has an interest in all aspects of maker culture to build on knowledge/skills and to possibly learn more about roles in this field.

Student Links is an initiative that offers High School students who have an intellectual disability an opportunity to expand on current interests and hobbies, while discovering new possibilities for life after High School.

Your Role as a Mentor:
- Presenting information about your field of expertise
- Introducing a student to your hobby or industry
- Providing an opportunity for hands-on experience

This is an opportunity for you to help a student by sharing something you're passionate about.

Time commitments are flexible.
