Nature Canada is a national charitable organization based in Ottawa. We are the lead partner in the Canadian Nature Network, which is a family of more than 340 naturalist organizations from coast to coast. Through our conservation work, outreach and education programs, we connect people to nature and work to protect and conserve Canada\'s birds, endangered species and parks and protected areas. Currently more than 40,000 people support our efforts to be an effective voice for nature in Canada. We are a Canadian co-partner of BirdLife International alongside Bird Studies Canada. As part of this global family of bird and nature conservation organizations we oversee a network of 600 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) nationwide - representing the most important sites for birds and their conservation.
Nature Canada is the oldest national nature conservation charity in Canada. Over the past 75 years, we have helped protect over 63 million acres of parks and wildlife areas in Canada and the countless species that depend on this habitat. Today, we represent a network of over 45,000 members & supporters and more than 350 nature organizations in every province across Canada.
Nature Canada’s mission is to protect and conserve nature in Canada by engaging Canadians and by advocating on behalf of nature.
