As a children’s charity, the Parent Resource Centre (PRC) is a leader in family support programs and comprehensive training for professionals. With a focus on child development, parent support, training and research, the PRC aims to have a lasting impact on the well-being of children. By using best-practices, we offer a holistic approach to support children, parents and caregivers, as well as front-line service providers who work with and nurture our children.

The PRC is committed to high quality, accessible programs, and provides relevant parenting information that makes a tangible difference in families’ lives. Our service area includes greater Ottawa and the surrounding counties.

With more than 40 years of service in the child and youth sector, the PRC is considered a destination for children, parents, caregivers and professionals.


Volunteer Opportunities

Are you an artist and do you love working with children?

Investing in our children provides them with invaluable tools that can change the course of their lives and the communities in which they live. Parent Resource Centre, located in Sandy Hill is a charity focused on children and the families who love them. We are seeking a volunteer artist/painting instructor to facilitate our version of “Paint Nite” called Little Picasso’s. This is a wonderful opportunity for you as a passionate artist to provide an opportunity for parents and children to connect, collaborate and create in a fun, engaging and supportive environment. In committing to this opportunity, you will also be inspiring the lives of future little artists. Our Little Picasso’s paint events are 1 ½ hours in length and are held on a Saturday or Sunday morning at our centre at 300 Goulburn Crescent.

We are looking for an artist/instructor who has….
• A passion for art
• Experience facilitating a Paint Nite or a similar event
• A comfort level with and/or experience teaching young children
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
Successful candidates must provide a criminal record vulnerable sector check and provide references.
Please note that PRC will provide all the necessary supplies and staff support for set up and tear down.
